This blender is powerful, and it did make high quality smoothies like you'd expect from a blendtec or other highend commercial. However, after about 20 smoothies it broke. The blades spin but no longer blend. I did a little sleuthing and apparently this is a common defect having to do with the cast iron bit that turns the blades. Now I'm looking for my local waring repair place which is several cities away.
