My mother gave my wife and me our Vitamix mixer many years ago. We found it extremely powerful and useful, but the lid was always so awkward to use. It was tremendously challenging to pry the lid off or to wrestle it in place. So when we found this replacement pitcher, we were intrigued by the lid design. This replacement pitcher lid has two rubber wings that are much easier to slip on and yet are still firmly locking the lid in place.The pitcher itself works just as nicely as our original pitcher; it fits our Vitamix model perfectly. The add-in port in the top of the lid has a screw-in locking mechanism to keep it firmly in place (which is great, since the Vitamix is so powerful that anything but a firmly closed lid would be shot off of the top of the pitcher when the Vitamix is on high power).Really happy with this replacement.
