I'm using this with a Vitamix Creations GC base (a 5200/C-series machine). Mine came with a 48oz container and I wanted to replace it with a full 64oz one. This was about $30 cheaper than others I could find on Amazon at the time, although the others do have the newly designed lids. I did reach out to Vitamix to ensure that this was compatible with my base and this was their response..."The Vpro 64 ounce 001195 is a commercial grade container and is not recommended to be used with the Creations GC machine that you currently have. If you were looking to purchase a larger container for your machine it would be the Classic 64 ounce container. It is listed on our website retailing at $149.95."Their response came too late though, I needed a container and took my chances with this one. It's working like a charm. I can't say whether or not the new lid design is easier/better in use, but I'm not having trouble with this one now that I've got the hang of it. I guess I'm taking a chance given that they didn't recommend this container, but I truly don't think it's any different than their old consumer containers.
