It is head to open the to go one it get stack.there is one that I can't open.please let know if you have any other options.ThanksThe product is cheaply made thin plastic and no parts list to render if something breaks. First use I overheated the motor and had to wait a number of times for it to reset. If it can't handle what I do in the kitchen then it is of no use to me at all. I will use it but I am now looking for a more heavy duty item. This is like a toyI really wanted to hold out hope, but this thing is obnoxious to use. I bought it because I’m outfitting a part time home, I like to cook, and I make smoothies daily, so this personal blender/food processor combo seemed to good to pass up. I was prepared for the backwards screwing thing—though, that is much more annoying than I anticipated—but there are so many other aspects that make this difficult to use and clean. These are all plastic parts and it’s clear they are cheaply made. None of the things that are supposed to screw together stay together or make a good seal, so each time I’ve used it, I’ve either had the blender cup come loose while the machine is running, or smoothie spray out from the “seal” between the cup and the blade attachment, or both. It is incredibly loud as others have said, and I feel like I have to hold onto the cup and the machine just to keep everything in place—the motor is powerful, but it vibrates the whole machine which makes it move (like, scuttle to the side a few inches) while it’s running. Lastly, the cups are a shape that is very difficult to clean. They’re too long and narrow to use a dish wand, and there are plastic ridges inside that hurt my hand if I stick it in there, which I have to do because I can’t use a dish wand.I haven’t tried the food processor yet and I’ll keep it since I have used it and I’m hoping to figure out ways around these issues. It is just so disappointing that Cuisinart, a brand that my mother and grandmothers relied on, is making products so cheaply these days. This is so easy to use, and in our cramped kitchen space, performs all the functions we need--blender, smoothie maker, food processor.I was a big fan of Cuisinart for decades and have many of their products, I believe in 'buy well, buy once'. That was until I dealt with their customer service. The clutch spun off the drive shaft making a smoothie with frozen berries, a banana and milk. It happened after a few months with limited use. When I first opened the package, I could see that it would be a part that would eventually fail, it has a lot of stress on it by design, but assumed it was easily changed. The manual doesn't have a part number breakdown, so I called CS to order a new part, hoping it would be no charge since it's 5 months old, well within the 3 year warranty. I was told repeatedly that it's not a replaceable part, it must be sent in for repair. The clutch itself is molded (ABS) onto a brass collar, this is where it separated. Since it wasn't replaceable I assumed (there I go again) the brass collar was part of the drive shaft. Instead of opening it up to look, I agreed to service and was told I'd receive a shipping label within 2-3 days.10 days later with absolutely zero labels in my possession and about to spend another 30 minutes on the phone I decided to search if I could buy the part anywhere else. Well, first hit was of course Amazon. Amazon sells both the OEM part and about another dozen knock offs ranging in price from $5-12.So in two days I'll have a working $150 blender again, no thanks to Cuisinart, actually, in spite of Cuisinart's effort to keep me from using it.You'll need a Phillips screwdriver and Visegrips to change the clutch, in case you need to order them too. That said, I do like the unit. A lot. This is a limited review based only on the making of smoothies. We haven't had the opportunity yet to apply it to other uses, but it looks very similar to the Cuisinart it replaced and we expect it to perform at least as well. The plastic containers (old one was glass) are a minor downgrade and probably preclude cleaning in a dishwasher - we have not tested that and probably never will. Hand washing is very easy (primarily just rinsing) and does a fine job.We bought a second blade for use only with the smoothie cups - you may be OK with one blade but we didn't want to dismantle the blender to make smoothies. I consider it a $35 luxury. I doubt the price would have increased by that amount if it were included in the original package. That is my only complaint and it may not be relevant to you.The smoothies cups are great and the smoothie setting does a good job. Just remember to put the yogurt in last or it will tend to stick on the bottom of the cup. The sipping hole keeps you from getting a smoothie moustache. The new blade design works well. The gasket is an improvement over the old flat gasket. Clean-up on the new blade is much easier than on the old one, which consisted of three parts. All threading on the unit is reversed, so that takes a little getting-used to.Overall, it is performing well in limited use.The latest purchase was one we gifted our daughter. Our own has been with us for over 2 years.... and going!!! It’s a great purchase and used fairly regularly. The only problem we have ever faced is with the food processor plunger. It is so invisible that if you unconsciously tilt the processor lid with it in it that it falls off. It’s happened a few times and the plunger, made of plastic, has cracked. Would we buy another one the next time? Definitely. It serves us for our Indian grinding and processing very well.I purchased this blender in March, by the beginning of May a mechanism in the base broke off in the middle of use. I received a replacement from Cuisinart after 6 weeks only to have the exact same part break off 3 months later. It's been 6 months since my original purchase and 2 machines have broken. Do not purchaseexcelente producto, nada amas que las cuchillas de la licuadora se fastidiaron y pues no podemos conseguirlas. asi pues, si son tan amables en vender las puras cuchillas se les agradecerá mucho.eso es todo saludos...Worked great but was extremely loud. Travel cup did a good job making smoothie. I am someone who is not easily bothered by machine noises but couldn't tolerate this one, ended up returning just for this reason.
