I purchased the Vitamix BarBoss (now known as the Drink Machine Advance) many years ago. It is a phenomenal machine for smoothies/shakes and my mother has been coveting it ever since. Her blender went bust and she asked me to get her one like mine. Well let's just say the price of the Vitamix has climbed considerably since I purchased mine. So....enter the Waring Extreme MX1100XTX. I wanted to get her a powerful blender that was equal to the one I had, but still priced at a level that wouldn't hurt too much. This blender has blown away my expectations - to the point I am coveting HER blender. This one is more powerful for sure, but the design of the jug I think is superior. It blends like a dream and no tamping required. You can't go wrong with either, but I'm not kidding when I say I've asked her to trade. Unfortunately, she's having none of that suggestion ;p
